Division of Earth Sciences held next meeting at the Institute of ANAS Institute of Geology and Geophysics.

Academician-Secretary of the Division, academician Fakhraddin Gadirov, members of the Department, heads and employees of scientific institutions attended the event.

Opening the meeting, F.Gadirov informed the participants about the issues on the agenda.

First of all, Doctor of Geological-Mineralogical Sciences Majid Bagmanov delivered a report on "Eocene ecosystems and oil of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic", the senior scientific worker of the Institute of Geology and Geophysics of ANAS. The report outlines the stratigraphic and paleontological aspects of the existence of oil in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. The topic was discussed and the questions were respondent.

The next issue on the agenda was devoted to the election of “Professor of ANAS” title. Academician Fakhraddin Gadirov told about the decision of the Presidium of ANAS to hold the next competition for the academic title of “Professor of ANAS” from April 3, 2019.

According to him, was created expert group, consisting of the Division members to identify candidates which have participated in the competition and Ph.D. in Earth Sciences Gulam Babayev has been nominated. It was decided to submit the results to the Presidium.

At the event, a number of personnel and current issues were discussed.
