A round table on the topic "Follow the requirements of Azerbaijani language in advertising, translation and dubbing" was held at the Institute of Linguistics named after Nasimi of ANAS.

The event was held within the framework of the Media and Civil Society Public Union's project on "Consistent Measures to Protect the Azerbaijani Literary Language", which was established by the Council of State Support to Non-Governmental Organizations under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Director of the Institute of Linguistics, academician Mohsun Nagisoylu said that language is not only a means of communication but history and culture of the people as well. He noted that every Azerbaijani should not forget and propagate their mother language, religion, national customs and traditions.

Later, the head of the Monitoring Department of the Institute of Linguistics, Doctor of Philology Sevinj Aliyeva said that the address of any object should be reflected in Azerbaijani language. He emphasized the importance of street advertising, posters' compliance with the norm in the "State Program on the use of Azerbaijani language in accordance with time demand in the conditions of globalization and linguistic development in the country".

Head of the project Khanoglan Ahmadov, journalist Vasif Sadigli, Professor Sayali Sadigova, docents - Baba Maharramli, Qudsiya Gambarova, Sevinj Mammadova, Guntakin Binnotova and others spoke about the language defects in the advertisements and made proposals on eliminating shortcomings.
