ANAS held seminar on fire protection methods

ANAS Central Scientific Library held a seminar on "Fire protection methods and responsibilities of enterprises and organizations in their implementation" organized by the II Special Department of the Presidium of ANAS on October 2.

The event was attended by Nizami Farajov, Chief Specialist of the Department of State Fire Control Service of the AR Ministry of Emergency Situations, Colonel Jamal Zamanov, Deputy Chief of the 2nd Territory State Fire Control Office of AR Ministry of Emergency Situations, Major Vurgun Yusifli, Deputy Directors for general affairs of scientific institutions and organizations of ANAS, heads of the headquarters.

Opening the event, Eldar Guliyev brought to the attention the issues on the agenda. He noted that, seminars, trainings and other events dedicated to Civil Defense are organized in accordance with the Law of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan on Civil Defense, Law of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan on Ensuring Civil Defense of September 25, 1998 and recommendations of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

E.Guliyev told about the relevance of the issue of fire safety at present in connection with the onset of the winter season. He noted that each enterprise should ensure the safety of employees during a fire, employees should be educated and prepared from a moral and psychological point of view, an evacuation plan was studied and practical exercises conducted, including fire safety measures developed.

The Department chief noted that, scientific planes of ANAS have been prepared, fire balloons renewed once a year and provided with fire panels.

At the seminar, Nizami Faradjev, chief specialist of the Fire Propaganda Department of the State Fire Supervision Service of the Emergencies Ministry, reported that 5 percent of fire cases registered during the year were related to natural disasters, and 95 percent were due to inattention of people.

The representative of the Ministry of Emergencies recommended that the safety rules be strictly observed during the installation and operation of electrical equipment, including gas. In addition, he emphasized the need for education and regular inspection of fire fighting equipment in research institutions.

Speaking at the seminar, J.Zamanov said that, most fire were registered in localities with household waste and dry grass. He noted that, they cooperate with local executive bodies in the field of timely waste collection and cleaning of dry grass in 12 administrative districts of Baku.

Then, was demonstrated a video on the rules for the use of fire extinguishers, as well as behavior during earthquakes, landslides, household fires and gas poisoning.

The event also informed on the GO leadership, training conducted by the GO chiefs of headquarters in September.

In conclusion, were considered a number of current issues.
