The delegation led by Director of ANAS Institute of History, academician Yagub Mahmudov visited Shumen University after Bishop Konstantin Preslavski, Bulgaria.
At the meeting with rector of Shumen University, Professor Habil Georgi Kolev, the sides discussed bilateral relations.
H.Kolev noted that, the decision to sign a protocol on cooperation between the Faculty of Humanitarian Sciences of the University and ANAS Institute of History will be taken shortly.
In turn, Y.Mahmudov spoke on participation of Azerbaijan scientists at the international conference "Christianity in Southeast Europe in Late Antiquity" in Yambol, Bulgaria. "These two peoples have a common history and expressed willingness to conduct joint research on the Bulgarian Turkic State", he added.
During the meeting, Allahverdi Alimirzaev and Ramin Alizadeh spoke in detail on the history of Azerbaijani-Bulgarian relations and the ethnogenetic roots of the two peoples.
In accordance with the agreement, the parties will prepare and transmit to each other the text of the relevant agreement.
In conclusion, rector presented works devoted to the history of Karabakh, the Irevan khanate and the monuments destroyed by Armenian vandals.
