Baku school-lyceum No 20 held the event as a part of the 2nd International Scientific Conference on “Nasimi, Your Word Conquered the World”.

At the event devoted to Nasimi's 650th anniversary was organized an exhibition dedicated to the life and creativity of the poet by the students.

Vice-president of ANAS, director of the Institute of Literature, academician Isa Habibbayli, Deputy Minister of Education of the Republic of the Azerbaijan Mahabbat Valiyeva, head of Baku Education Department Rashad Taghiyev, employees of scientific institutions and organizations of the Academy, as well as teacher-scientists from foreign countries and mass media representatives attended the conference.

Opening the ceremony, school's director Saadat Veysova recalled that, 2019 year by the Order of AR President was declared as a “Year of Nasimi" in our country and said that, a series of events was held at the school led by her.

Speaking afterwards, academician Isa Habibbayli noted that, after Nizami Ganjavi and before Muhammad Fuzuli Imaddaddin Nasimi was the most prominent figure in Azerbaijan. He noted that, Nasimi has left an indelible mark on history with his valuable ideas and poetic expressions, enriched our literature and elevated our native language to a perfect literary language. I.Habibbayli told that, in recent years, there have been regular activities aimed at expanding relations between ANAS and educational institutions and the conference will play an important role in conveying the poet's ideas to new generations.

Then, academician donated publications of the institute to the school.

Speaking at the conference, Mahabbat Valiyeva and Rashad Taghiyev said that, the announcement of 2019 as a "Year of Nasimi” was a demonstration of the attention by AR President to our national culture and historical values of our people.

Then, the students performed examples of Imadaddin Nasimi's poems and gazals, compositions based on Nasimi’s works, and literary and artistic compositions were demonstrated.
