Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

Central Scientific Library of the Nakhchivan Division of ANAS and the Library of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic named after M.S.Ordubadi organized the conference "Libraries and Youth".

Opening the event, director of the Library of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, Tamella Asgarova, emphasized the undoubted role of youth in the comprehensive development of our country and spoke about the state’s concern for youth. She noted that the decrees and orders signed by national leader Heydar Aliyev and his worthy successor, President Ilham Aliyev and adopted state programs in the field of youth policy, open up great opportunities for the comprehensive development of youth.

Tamella Assgarova stressed out that the autonomous republic has rich libraries with all the conditions for attracting young people to libraries and creating a reading culture. She noted the importance of the order “On books recommended for reading”, signed by the chairman of the Supreme Majlis of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, and said that these events are an important step towards turning youth into a leading force in society.

At the conference, it was noted that the libraries of the Autonomous Republic regularly held book exhibitions, meetings with local poets and writers.

Then, lectures on “The role of libraries in shaping the younger generation”, “Digital libraries created in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic”, “Positive self-assertion of modern youth: the role of libraries in the formation of valuable areas and social experience” were listened.
