Scientific online conference “Nagi Nagiyev-110” took place

An online scientific conference was held at the Institute of Arts, Language and Literature of the Nakhchivan Division of ANAS, dedicated to the 110th birthday of the outstanding Azerbaijani writer Nagi Nagiyev.

Opening the event, the director of the institute, ANAS corresponding member Abulfaz Guliyev spoke about the life and work of the famous playwright, public figure, translator, editor and artist Nagy Nagiyev, his achievements in the development of Azerbaijani literature and the significance of the works of the classic. He said that the writer, who has devoted 40 years of his 70-year life to art, is the author of dramatic works, novels, novels, short stories, essays; he also translated works of representatives of various nations. The works of N. Nagiyev, who has exceptional merit in the development of the literary environment, played an important role in the education of the younger generation.

Noting that important events had been carried out in the institution headed by him, aimed at studying the work of an outstanding classic, Abulfaz Guliyev added that the next issue of the collection of articles for the year 2020, annually published as part of the Fate and Creativity project, was devoted to Nagy Nagiyev.

Then, at the conference, head of the Department of Linguistics, PhD in Philology, Associate Professor Nurai Aliyeva delivered a lecture on “Translation Activities of Nagi Nagiyev”, a leading researcher of the department, PhD in Philology, Associate Professor Zulfiya Ismail delivered a lecture on “Language and Stylistic Features of Nagy Nagiyev's Works” , Nargiz Ismayilova, a senior researcher of the Department of Literary Studies, PhD in Philology with a lecture on “Nagy Nagiyev's Artistic Prose”.
