Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences

By organization of Chinese language and culture center, Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL) held workshop titled as “Development problems of mountainous areas of Azerbaijan and China” devoted to “International Mountain Day” UN General Assembly.

Stressing out the importance of mountains as special eco systems and objects of cultural heritage, director of the center, senior lecturer Rafig Abbasov noted the significance of the Order signed by President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev “On the establishing Yanardag state historical-cultural natural reserve” in order to protect unique natural monuments.

Attending the workshop director of the Institute of Geography, academician Ramiz Mammadov and deputy director, corresponding member of ANAS Elbrus Alizadeh spoke about existed ties via Chinese scientists, participation in the “Ecology, environment and stable development in Silk way trade zone” held in Beijing, stable development challenges of Azerbaijan in mountainous natural-economic geo system.

Within the event were displayed documentaries devoted to Azerbaijan and Chinese history and culture.

Guests were presented “Ilham Aliyev - modern successor of friedship of the both ancient nations” book dealing with President Ilham Aliyev’s contributions to Azerbaijan – Chinese ties in 2003-2013 compiled by Chinese language and culture center and supervised by rector of AUL, MP, professor Samad Seyidov.
