President of ANAS, Academician Akif Alizadeh received temporary charge d'affaires of Algerian diplomatic representation to our country Abbes Benmoussati. The main purpose of the meeting, held at the Presidium of ANAS was to discuss the prospects of cooperation between the Academy and research institutions of Algeria.

The meeting was also attended by the Vice-President of ANAS, Academician Ibrahim Guliyev and head of International Relations Department of ANAS Presidium Administration, PhD in geological-mineralogical sciences Gulam Babayev.

In advance, Academician Akif Alizadeh told the guest about the activity, structure and scientific achievements of ANAS, as well as the role and contribution of the Academy to the formation of the scientific and intellectual potential of the country and the socio-economic development of society. Academician recalled that for many years the Azerbaijani specialists carried out research in Algeria in the field of oil refining.

Mr. Abbes Benmoussati, in turn, thanked the leadership of ANAS for the warm welcome and talked about friendly relations and communication in the field of science, education and culture that exist between the two countries. He stressed the need to further enhance the relationship between scientific institutions of the two countries and organize the mutual exchange of staff and experience.

During the meeting, they discussed the possibility of joint cooperation in the field of humanities, agreed to sign further agreements of intent on cooperation between the institutions of ANAS and scientific institutions of Algeria.

At the end of the meeting, the guest invited President of ANAS to visit the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria.
