Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

ANAS President, Academician Akif Alizadeh met with a delegation headed by President of the International Turkic Academy Darkhan Kydyrali. Welcoming the guests, Academician Akif Alizadeh spoke about the historical and cultural relations between the Turkic-speaking countries and the merits of the International Turkic Academy in the development of science in these countries. He thanked the leadership of the scientific organization in such a fruitful activity.

In turn, Academician Darkhan Kidirali thanked the leadership of ANAS for the warm welcome and spoke about the activities, aims and objectives of the International Turkic Academy, as well as on the development of scientific cooperation between Turkic countries that are members of this organization.

At the meeting, Vice-President of ANAS, Academician Isa Habibbeyli talked about cooperation with the International Turkic Academy. He noted that, within this cooperation a number of projects are realized. Last year, were held anniversary of the great thinkers of Azerbaijan, Ali bey Huseynzadeh and Mammad Emin Rasulzadeh. And this year, under organization of Academy started preparations for publication of the program and the textbook "Common Turkic literature".

In addition, negotiations are underway for the publication of the first 10 volumes of the 100-volume book titled "The common heritage of ancestors". Academician also emphasized that, ANAS took over the training included in the project "The common heritage of ancestors" of the Dresden and Vatican copies of epos "Kitabi-Dede Gorgud," and the epos "Koroglu" and other similar publications. Scientist announced a proposal to start teaching common Turkic history in secondary schools of the country, starting with the 8th grade.

At the event Academician Akif Alizadeh put forward a proposal to develop cooperation between the Academies of Sciences of Turkic-speaking countries, not only in the humanitarian field, but also conduct joint research and implement joint projects that general to these countries, scientific problems in areas such as geology, physics, chemistry, biology, etc.

Next Darkhan Kydyrali donated the silver medal of the International Turkic Academy Academician Isa Habibbeyli for his merits in development of Turkish scientific cooperation.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the Embassy of Kazakhstan to Russia and Kazakhstan scientists, Academician-Secretary of Humanitarian and Social Sciences of ANAS, as well as scientists from research institutions of the Academy.
