A presentation of the books by Izzaddin Hasanoglu and Mirza Alakbar Sabir, published in Türkiye, was held at the Central Scientific Library (CSL) of ANAS.
Seyfaddin Altaylı prepared the book “Kitâb-ı Sîretü’n-Nebî” by Izzaddin Hasanoglu and “Hophopname” by Mirza Alakbar Sabir for publication.
The event was attended by the President of ANAS, Academician Isa Habibbeyli, the Head of the Association of Authors of Eurasia Ufuk Tuzman, People’s Poet Sabir Rustamkhanli, the Director of the Institute of Manuscripts of ANAS, Academician Teymur Karimli, employees of various institutes of the Academy, media representatives, and others.
The event was opened with an introductory speech by the President of ANAS, Academician Isa Habibbeyli. He said that the friendship and brotherhood relations between Türkiye and Azerbaijan are developing day by day also in the fields of science and culture. He spoke about the historical and scientific significance of the books published in Türkiye as a result of literary relations and underlined that the noticeable cultural successes between the two countries have a positive impact on relations with other Turkic states as well. According to the academician Sabir’s book was published in Türkiye in the 1950s and in recent times, the field of translation has significantly expanded. He characterized Seyfaddin Altaylı’s re-publication of “Hophopname” there as a significant contribution to the literary school of “Molla Nasreddin”.
Academician Isa Habibbeyli expressed his gratitude to Seyfaddin Altayli for putting great effort and enthusiasm into the publication of both books. He fondly remembered Yagub Omaroghlu, who led the Association of Authors of Eurasia for many years and loved the Turkic world and Azerbaijan. The President of ANAS wished success to a new head of the Association and made suggestions for cooperation.
In his speech, the Head of the Association of Authors of Eurasia Ufuk Tuzman, expressed his pride in making a speech from the rostrum of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences for the first time as the new head of association. Ufuk Tuzman provided information about the works carried out by the association, mentioning that the organization he leads has established relations with 29 republics and autonomous republics. Touching upon the significance of “Hophopname”, he added that this book was the 500th publication of the “Bengü” publishing house for Yagub Omaroghlu.
The scientist emphasized that during his visit to Azerbaijan, he also visited Sabir’s homeland, Shamakhi, and was pleased to see the large number of intellectuals from there. He said that the Eurasian Authors’ Association has published 540 books, 50 of which are related to Azerbaijani literature. During his tenure as head, 40 books were published. He also provided information about the educational works carried out by the Association among Turkic communities.
People’s Poet Sabir Rustamkhanli and the Director of the Institute of Manuscripts of ANAS, Academician Teymur Karimli spoke about the national and scientific significance of the publications during their speeches.
Professor Gazanfar Pashayev, a distinguished scientist and chief researcher of the Department of Azerbaijani Oral Folk Literature and Written Monuments of the Institute of Literature, as well as Augun Baghirli, a scientific secretary, PhD in philology, associate professor, also spoke about the importance of the books.
Seyfaddin Altayli, a teacher at Baku Eurasian University, PhD in philology, and associate professor gave information about the characteristic features of the publications, the unique aspects of the books, and the details of the preparation process.
In conclusion, Elmira Mammadova-Kekech, the Head of the Department at Baku Eurasian University and Doctor of Philological Sciences, expressed her gratitude for the organization of the event and presented a gift to Seyfaddin Altayli, the compiler of the books.
