Round table “Russia-Azerbaijan: from accessible environment to the inclusive society” held

By joint organization of Central Scientific Library of ANAS, Institute of Human Rights of ANAS and Moscow State Humanitarian-Economic University was held a round table on topic “Russia-Azerbaijan: from accessible environment to the inclusive society” on February 9.

In the event were participated the guests from higher education institutions and the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, officials from the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Azerbaijan, representatives of NGOs having extensive experience in the work with disabled persons.

In a round table, director of the Institute of Human Rights, Dr. Law Ayten Mustafayeva spoke about integration of disabled people to a society, to improve their social status, rights, as well as the continuous and systematic work carried out in connection with inclusive education.

Larisa Falkovskaya, head of the division of education of children with developmental problems and socialization of the Department of State Policy in the sphere of protection of the rights of children of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, chancellor of MSHEU, Prof. Vagif Bayramov, President of International Paralympics Committee Filip Kreven, director of Research and Training Center on Labour and Social Problems of Population, Ministry of Ministry of Labor and Social Protection Vugar Hasanov and others highly appraised the organization of the round table, and highlighted its significance for solution of disability issues.

It was noted that the development of inclusive education is one of the priorities of a policy in many countries. The reforms are aimed at compliance of education with international principles and standards.

In addition, were informed about the work done in the field of integration of persons with disabilities and disabled children to a community and future cooperation were discussed.

In the event, MSHEU and Institute of Human Rights signed an agreement of cooperation.
