The delegation headed by the Vice-President of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) Cai Fang visited the Institutes of History, Archaeology and Ethnography.
At the meeting with the guests, director of the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography, Dr.History, Professor Maisa Rahimova said that the Azerbaijani archaeological science, which combines the ancient culture of the period, has made great strides. Archaeology of Azerbaijan developed thanks to the attention and care of the national leader Heydar Aliyev and his irreplaceable successor President Ilham Aliyev, as a separate scientific school recognized internationally. Speaking about 10 years of close collaboration via archaeological groups of the US, Russia, Turkey, Japan, France, Germany and other countries with Azerbaijani archaeologists, M.Rahimova expressed confidence in expansion of relations with the People's Republic of China by archaeologists.
M.Rahimova invited Chinese experts on international scientific conference dedicated to the material culture of Karabakh.
Corresponding member of ANAS Ilyas Babayev said that during the excavations carried out jointly by the German and Korean archaeologists in various regions of Azerbaijan were found various artifacts produced in ancient China, starting from the II century BC.
During the meeting, held at the Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography, Vice President of CASS Cai Fang informed about the current China's Institute of Archaeology and its international projects. He stressed the need for participation of Azerbaijani representatives in the World Congress of archaeologists, held annually in Shanghai.
At the meeting, held at the Institute of History, the sides discussed prospects of cooperation between the Institute of History and CASS. Director of the Institute, corresponding member of ANAS Yagub Mahmudov spoke about the existing relations of cooperation between the two countries in various fields and stressed the importance of further expansion of these ties.
