On June 20, International Eurasian Press Fund (IEPF) held a presentation ceremony of Azerbaijani edition of book “Banker to the poor” by Nobel Peace Prize Winner Muhammad Yunis.
Remind that, visit of Nobel Peace Prize Winner to Azerbaijan was taken place by joint organization of International Eurasian Press Fund, Universities of ADA and Economy.
At the event, IEPF chairman Umid Mirzeyev highlighted Muhammad Yunus to deserve the Nobel Peace Prize of the Grameen Bank in 2006. It was noted that the famous scientist is on the most influential business leaders list of "Wharton" Business School for the latest 25 years. in 25th place. Always looking for innovation and entrepreneurial activity journal "Fortune" has ranked him 12th in the list "12 great entrepreneurs of our time" in March 2012. "AsiaWeek" (Hong Kong) organization chose him as one of the twenty great Asian. Professor Muhammad Yunus has also been awarded 55 honorary degrees universities in 20 countries, 112 prizes of 26 countries, including state awards 10 countries. He is one of seven individuals who received Presidential Medal of Freedom and the US Congressional Gold Medal.
It was brought to attention that the translation into Azerbaijani language of the book "Banker of the Poor," by Muhammad Yunus, the founder of Grameen Bank and more than 50 economic entities, operating in 41 countries around the world - is an important event. The work is a collection of high scores imparted to man, and fighting for it.
The book notes the opportunity to succeed only through hard work, diligence, knowledge and experience.
The next speaker, Vice-President of ANAS, Academician Isa Habibbeyli noted that carried out for several years in Azerbaijan, a meeting with Nobel laureates have taken a traditional character. He said that the meeting with Muhammad Yunus and the presentation of his book is a continuation of this tradition.
Academician I.Habibbeyli noted that the meetings with Nobel laureates serve a higher purpose like to inform the public of Azerbaijan on the most important achievements of the world, as well as promotion of our country in the international arena.
It was noted that the book "Banker to the poor" forms the opinion that in getting rid of poverty in the society's desire for a happy future of the human factor over the financial factor. This book is a manifesto of the will of man. A deep love for humanity, self-confidence, enlightenment, great expectations is the main results of the book "Banker to the poor."
Expressing satisfaction with the translation of works in the Azerbaijani language, Muhammad Yunus appreciated the steps taken in Azerbaijan in the direction of reducing poverty. He said that the focus on social factors in the process of socio-economic development in Azerbaijan, positive trends in the direction of strengthening social responsibility in the business environment are commendable.
In conclusion, the highest award to Muhammad Yunus was awarded by IEFP. It was noted that today this highest award was presented to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and the head of the Republic of Udmurtia Alexander Soloviev. This award is given to public figures who contributed to the development of civil society on a global scale, have reached success in social and economic spheres at the international level, play an indispensable role in the development of world science, as well as promoting peace in conflict resolution.
