ANAS Charter was discussed

ANAS Presidium held assembly of the Commission of ANAS Charter.

In the assembly chaired by vice-president of ANAS acad. Isa Habibbayliwas stressed out the re-elaboration of the ANAS Charter, and to benefit world experience in this field. ANAS had studied Charter experience of Poland, Bulgaria, Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus and Ukrainian Academy of Sciences. Decision was made on creation of ANAS Charter on September 18 2013, working group was set up and new staff of the commission was asserted, noted I.Habibbayli.

Reporting in the event, academician-secretary of ANAS, corresponding member of ANAS Rasim Alguliyev made speech on care and attention of president of AR to science development and on demands which requires re-processing of the Charter. Establishment of techno parks and innovation centers will lead to shift the academy into leading force of knowledge economy, he said.

Commission members – academicians Asef Namazov, Vagif Farzaliyev, corresponding member of ANAS Perviz Mammadov, PhD in math Aminaga Sadigov, PhD in law Azer Namazov and others put forward suggestions and proposals.

Funding for science, to give the academy status of “Central Executive Authority”, to declare May 15 as a “Science Day” in accordance the Decree of national leader Heydar Aliyev dated May 15, 2001 on renaming Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan into Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, set up master system and so on were discussed in the event.

In addition, was suggested to separate ANAS Department of Humanitarian and Social Sciences into Humanitarian and Social Sciences Departments, to set up Department of Information Sciences, to hold academy elections every 5 years, naming doctors of sciences as “Honorary Doctor” etc.
