Presidium held the next bureau meeting of the Division of Biological and Medical Sciences was held.

Opening the meeting, Academician-Secretary Academician Ahliman Amiraslanov opened the meeting and introduced on the agenda.

Director of the Institute of Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry, Dr. Agriculture Alovsat Guliyev delivered a lecture on topic "Climate change and the use of underground water". Scientist reported about climate change and its causes. He said that as a result of an increase in temperature by 2030, 3 billion people will face water shortages, environmental strain will come up with different consequences.

In the report it was noted that 75 percent of the water resources are provided by the Kura and Araz rivers. These rivers also exposed to environmental pollution by Armenia and Georgia so, in a source of clean water is reducing in the country.

Then, were discussed Azerbaijan Republic President's Award for Youth in 2016 and issues arising from the order "Approval of the National Strategy on conservation and sustainable use of biological diversity in the Republic of Azerbaijan for the years 2017-2020".
