ANAS Institute of Oil and Gas held the first meeting of the Scientific Council

Vice-President of ANAS, Director of the Institute, Academician Ibrahim Guliyev, opening the meeting, spoke about the history of the structure headed by him.

Noting that, foundation of the Institute of Oil and Gas was founded in 1950, Academician stressed that the Institute scientists have made an important contribution to national science.

Speaking about the work to be done in the future in this scientific institution, the scientist stressed the need for intelligent control of the development of oil and gas fields.

Then the deputy director for scientific work of this structure, doctor of geological-mineralogical sciences, Professor Vagif Gurbanov, who noted that, a major focus of the Institute is the economics of oil and forecasting its development. The scientist noted that, today the Russian science is on the threshold of a new phase in the search for oil and gas exploration.

The meeting also approved the Scientific Council of the work plan for 2017, and it was decided to establish a Commission of Experts of the Institute.
