Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

Institute of Oriental Studies named after academician Z.M. Bunyadov held an academic session dedicated to the 85th anniversary of prominent South Azerbaijani scientist, PhD in economics Akram Rahimli.

Director of the Institute, academician Govhar Bakhshaliyeva said that Akram Rahimli was an experienced researcher and spoke about the scientist's place in oriental studies, valuable research on Turkey's economy and South Azerbaijan history.

Head of the South Azerbaijan branch of the Institute of Oriental Studies, PhD in history Samad Bayramzade made a report on the life and scientific activity of A.Rahimli. He emphasized that the scientist is the author and designer of more than 100 publicistic, scientific articles, a number of books.

Then Dunyamali Valiyev, chief of department of Oriental Studies Institute, leading researcher Subhan Talibli, leading scientific worker of the Institute of Literature Islam Garibli, Esmira Shukurova, department chief of the Institute of History Shahin Farzaliyev, chairman of Federation of Iranian Refugees

Rahim Huseynzadeh, poet Tariyel Umid and others spoke about scientific activities of the scientist and talked memories about him.

Within the event, a film about life and creativity of the scientist was demonstrated and an exhibition of books was also organized.

At the end, Akram Rahimli thanked the organizers for the event.
