ANAS Central Scientific Library and the Institute of Physiology held presentation of "Academician Huseyn Hasanov" book dedicated to the memory of the prominent scientist-physiologist and scientific organizer, Honored Scientist, Academician Huseyn Hasanov on October 17.

At the event, Director of the library, Ph.D. in medicine Leyla Imanova told about the invaluable merits of prominent scientist Huseyn Hasanov in the development of Azerbaijani physiology, his contributions to science and education in general. Informing about the book "Academician Huseyn Hasanov" presented to the public, L.Imanova noted that, the publication details the life path and scientific activities of the scientist. In the book readers are also presented photos reflecting historical documents on the development of physiology.

Then, Director of the Institute of Physiology, Professor Ulduz Hashimova noted that, in 1968, when the Institute of Physiology was established, H.Hasanov worked here as Deputy Director for scientific work, and later as director of the institute. He headed the Institute of Physiology of ANAS for 27 years.

It was noted that, the works of the scientist, who made a great effort in studying the physiology of the central nervous system and the opening of laboratories for conducting physiological studies, were published in a number of foreign countries and were brought to the world scientific community. Thanks to his efforts, the Congress of Physiologists of the USSR was held in Azerbaijan.

Speaking at the event, Director of the Institute of Microbiology, Academician Mammad Salamov, corresponding member of ANAS Rafig Gasimov and others told about the scientific, pedagogical activity and high human qualities of H.Hasanov, shared their memories of him.
