Institute of Philosophy of ANAS held a meeting with the Italian professor Mikhail Talalay, author of "From Caucasus to Apennines. Azerbaijanis in the Italian resistance movement" book and Aqustino Mirzoyev, the son of Mirza Mirzayev, who fought in the guerrilla movement in Italy during World War II.

Director of the Institute, Doctor of Philosophy, Professor Ilham Mammadzade said that our compatriots played an indispensable role in achieving victory over fascism in the Second World War. He noted that at that time more than 600,000 Azerbaijanis were sent to the war.

M.Talalay delivered a speech on the book he was writing. He noted that the heroes of the Azerbaijani guerrilla were reflected in various photos and archives of the period. He said that our compatriots, who escaped the Fascists' Stranja captivity camp in 1943, joined the guerrillas, and some of them moved from captivity camp in Austria to Italy..
