Institute of Linguistics named after Nasimi of ANAS hosted a conference on "Heydar Aliyev and the Azerbaijani language" dedicated to the 95th anniversary of national leader Heydar Aliyev.

An exhibition of books reflecting the rich life and activity of the great leader, language policy was organized within the framework of the conference held at the Main building of ANAS.

Opening the event, director of the Institute of Linguistics, academician Mohsun Nagisoylu spoke about the state programs and projects implemented in our country in the direction of development, protection and promotion of our language. He noted that national leader Heydar Aliyev's important services in the development of his mother tongue, protection of his purity, working language and the international system of relations were among the main goals of our country.

Professor Sayali Sadigova, speaking at the conference, said that the Decree "On Improving the Functioning of the State Language", signed by the national leader in 2001, enabled the use of Azerbaijani language in all government agencies and non-governmental organizations, as well as the transition to Latin script.

The conference was followed by a lecture by academician Mohsun Nagisoylu on the theme "Mother tongue in Heydar Aliyev's state-building policy", Professor Sayali Sadigova's "Heydar Aliyev and development of Azerbaijani language", Professor Ismayil Mammadli's "State language policy of Heydar Aliyev", Associate Professor Nagdali Zamanov " Phenomenal political speaker - Heydar Aliyev ".
