The next meeting of Presidium of ANAS Nakhchivan Division was held.

Firstly, chairman of the department, academician Ismayil Hajiyev familiarized the participants with the issues on the agenda.

Head of Department of Ancient Archeology of the Institute of History, Ethnography and Archeology of ANAS, correspondent member of ANAS Vali Bakhshaliyev informed about archaeological expeditions conducted in Nakhchivan. Archeologist noted that the archaeological expedition of the Nakhchivan Division is currently underway in Duzdag and Nakhchivan hill.

He noted that archeological excavations were carried out in Duzdag area since 2006. As a result of the researches, ceramic materials belonging to Eneolit, Early Bronze Age, Iron Age and Middle Ages were found. He said that according to these findings, salt extraction in Duzdag continued until the present day from the Stone Age. A book of expedition members about archaeological researches has been published, articles have been published in various foreign newspapers and magazines and international index journals. The articles have shown that the Duzdag mine has ancient history.

Then, the director of the institute, academician Tariyel Talibov spoke about researches related to field research in the Institute of Bioresources.

The director of the Institute of Natural Resources, correspondent member of ANAS Aliaddin Abbasov informed the preparation of "Shorsu" medical mud. The scientist talked about the chemical composition, therapeutic significance and use of the medicinal mud.

Later, Director of the Institute of Art, Language and Literature, Corresponding Member of ANAS Abulfaz Guliyev spoke about the work carried out to implement the grant project of the Science Development Fund under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. He said that 30 articles on the theme "Collection, complex application and publication of Nakhchivan Literary Environment, Folklore, Dialects and Speeches in the light of the Azerbaijanism ideology", completed in April this year, were published in authoritative scientific journals.

The meeting was also attended by the Batabat Astrophysics Observatory, the winner of the International Grant Competition jointly organized by the Science Development Fund under the President of Azerbaijan and the Russian Foundation for Fundamental Research. It was noted that, along with the staff of the Batabat Astrophysical Observatory, the Shamakhi Astrophysics Observatory named after Nasreddin Tusi, the Institute of Physiology named after Academician Abdulla Garayev and the Russian Academy of Sciences on Earth Magnetism will participate in the grant project "Physics of variations in solar and heliogeophysical activity, long-term prediction and impact on biosystems". The project is expected to be implemented within 2 years.

At the end a number of current issues were considered.
