Azerbaijan National Academy of Science

Memorial events dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the death of national leader Heydar Aliyev were held at the National History Museum of Azerbaijan at the Institute of Dendrology, Oriental Studies, Caucasian Studies and Linguistics of ANAS.

Heydar Aliyev rendered unprecedented services in the socio-political life of our country, as well as in the state building. It was noted that in the years of great leader in Azerbaijan during the USSR, substantial steps were taken to develop the country's economy, and many successes were achieved in scientific, cultural, literary and other fields.

It was also noted that the great leader's wise policy, historical vision has saved our country from the risk of chaos and fragmentation in the early 90s of the last century, ensuring the independence of the republic forever. In the speeches it was noted that the nationwide leader united the people closely and raised Azerbaijan to the highest levels in the international arena.

At the same time, the event highlighted great leader’s role the development of democracy in our country, reforms in the protection of the mother tongue's purity.
